The grout joints should be thoroughly cleaned and dry to expose an even surface. The joints should be at least 5mm wide. It may be necessary to rake excess adhesive from the joints. When grouting porous or unglazed tiles, dampen the joints with clean water before grouting. It is recommended that tiles be sealed prior to grouting to avoid staining.

All workmanship must be carried out in accordance with AS3958.1-2007. Apply the mixed grout with a rubber squeegee, ensuring that the grout is worked well into the joints. Wash off excess grout from the face of the tiles with a damp sponge when the grout joints have firmed. Do not allow excess grout to dry on the face of the tiles as this will be difficult to remove. Do not use acid wash to remove dried grout. During hot or windy conditions do not allow the grout to dry out quickly. Dampen joints after application.

A film of cement scale will remain on the face of the tile. This scale can be removed by polishing the tiles with a soft cloth once the grout joints are dry. Sanded Grout is only recommended for grout joints between 5mm and 15mm wide. It is recommended that a pre-test is done to verify that the tiles do not stain and are suitable to be grouted with Sanded Grout.

10kg paper bags.

Unopened bags can be stored for up to 12 months in a cool, dry and weatherproof environment. Bags must be stored off the floor.

Add 1 litre of clean water into a clean mixing container. Add approximately 4kg of grout powder into the water with continuous mixing until a thick consistency is achieved. The grout mixture should then be allowed to stand for 2 minutes then re-stirred. The grout is now ready for use. To produce a flexible, resilient grout, Dubond’S GT should be used in partial water replacement.
